Planned school and college routes
Regular journeys to an education setting, with the same route and timings each day so the arrangement becomes familiar.

SEND transport
Journeys planned around the individual passenger, with the route, vehicle, timings and any agreed passenger assistant settled before travel begins.
Overview
Transport for a passenger with special educational needs or a disability works best when it is unhurried, consistent and agreed in advance. Road Buddy Transport can discuss planned journeys, regular routes and individual passenger requirements with families, schools, colleges and organisations.
Our starting point is the passenger. What time suits them, what the journey looks like from their point of view, who greets them at either end, what needs to travel with them and whether a passenger assistant should be part of the arrangement. Those questions come before anything is confirmed.
This is a planned passenger transport service. Journey support, vehicle requirements and handover arrangements are discussed and agreed before travel.
Journey types
Regular journeys to an education setting, with the same route and timings each day so the arrangement becomes familiar.
A journey arranged for one passenger where a shared run would not be appropriate or comfortable.
Routes where a passenger assistant has been arranged in advance to provide journey support that has been agreed beforehand.
Travel where a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is required, arranged subject to requirements and availability.
Transport to regular activities, groups or planned respite arrangements, including varying weekly patterns.
Pre-arranged travel to appointments where extra time, a quieter journey or additional boarding support helps.
Vehicles and access
Vehicle choice follows the passenger's requirements rather than the other way round. 4, 6 and 8-seater options are available, and wheelchair-accessible vehicles can be arranged subject to requirements and availability.
A wheelchair position reduces the number of passenger seats, and an assistant travelling with the passenger takes a seat too. Working this out in advance avoids an unsuitable vehicle arriving on the first morning.
How we talk about this service
Please do not submit diagnoses, detailed medical information or safeguarding information through the website. If a journey needs that level of discussion, call us and we will talk it through properly with you, or with the school or authority involved.
Families, schools, colleges and organisations can discuss the route, schedule, vehicle and agreed journey support directly with Road Buddy Transport.
The journey plan records the practical support requested, who meets the passenger at each end and any equipment or access needs that affect the vehicle.
How booking works
Send your journey details and we will confirm availability and provide a price. Your journey is not booked until it has been confirmed directly by Road Buddy Transport.
Use the booking request form, WhatsApp, email or a phone call to tell us where and when you need to travel.
Passenger numbers, luggage, mobility equipment and any assistance needed all affect which vehicle is suitable.
We check availability for your date and time and reply with a price for that specific journey.
The journey is arranged once you have agreed the details and we have confirmed it back to you.
Every journey is priced individually, based on the route, timing, passenger numbers and any accessibility requirements.
Questions
It means a planned journey arranged around an individual passenger's requirements — the route, the timings, the vehicle, who travels and whether a passenger assistant has been agreed. It is a transport arrangement, not a care or clinical service.
No. Eligibility and travel assistance decisions are made by the relevant local authority. We can discuss arranging a journey, and families are welcome to share our details with the authority handling their case.
Practical journey information only: collection address, destination, days and times, number of passengers, vehicle or accessibility requirements and whether a passenger assistant has been agreed. Please keep diagnoses and medical detail off the public form.
We understand why familiarity matters and will discuss it when planning a route, but we do not promise guaranteed continuity of driver on every journey.
No. A passenger assistant can be arranged where it is required and agreed in advance. Please tell us at the outset if one is needed so it forms part of the arrangement.
Usually, yes. Tell us what travels with the passenger — equipment, a bag, a wheelchair or a walking aid — so the vehicle chosen has room for it.
